Presented at the group exhibition X:7 at perfocraZe International Artist Residency, Kumasi, Ghana (March 2021)
Camera: Onsoh Edward

Tsuchimoto presented an ongoing project “with” an uncultivated spot at KNUST Botanic Garden through several slow practices. They include actively listening to clicks made by bats instead of recording their sounds, assembling plastic waste rather than producing and consuming unrecyclable materials, tracing patterns of lichens on bamboo trees in her sketchbook as an alternative to shuttering with a camera, and observing subtle changes at the location in place of looking for dramatical moments. The project is a series of embodiments through video, text, and drawing, as a speculative commitment to overlooked fragments, visualizing possible futures of coexistence and co-creation.
